Vancouver, B.C. — Santacruz Silver Mining Ltd. (TSX.V:SCZ) (the “Company” or “Santacruz”) reports that construction works to expand the Veta Grande mill capacity to 750 tpd are 85% advanced. Commissioning of this expansion is expected to start in late March. The mill expansion is being funded by Carrizal Mining, S.A. de C.V. (“Carrizal”) pursuant to the Carrizal LOI (see press release dated December 14th, 2017).

In addition, Santacruz advises that the previously announced drill campaign (see press release dated January 9th, 2018) at the Veta Grande Project has been expanded to include an initial 3,000-metre undergorund diamond drill program on the Armados vein. In order to complete the program in a timely manner Carrizal is mobilizing a second drill rig to the Veta Grande mine with drilling expected to commence by mid-March.

Carlos Silva, COO of Santacruz, stated “The expansion of the Veta Grande Project diamond drill program to include the Armados vein will allow us to better delineate a mine plan on this vein in anticipation of the inminent expansion of the Veta Grande mill capacity.” Mr. Silva continued “The mill expansion activities are in line with our budget and commissioning of the new ball mill is scheduled to start by the end of the first quarter aiming to achieve designed efficiencies during the month of April.”

Rosario Project

The decisions to commence production at the Rosario Mine, Cinco Estrellas Property and Membrillo Prospect were not based on a feasibility study of mineral reserves demonstrating economic and technical viability, but rather on a more preliminary estimate of inferred mineral resources. Accordingly, there is increased uncertainty and economic and technical risks of failure associated with this production decision. Production and economic variables may vary considerably, due to the absence of a complete and detailed site analysis according to and in accordance with NI 43-101.

Veta Grande Project
