We hope this message finds you and your loved ones healthy and safe.

The Globexplore Team would like to reach out to you during these extremely challenging times. Everyone reading this should be proud to contribute their small part to the great importance the Mining industry provides to the well-being and future of our society. Governments and society in general easily forget that we would be living In The Stone Age without Mining and it is vastly important that every one of us urgently reaches out to every political and executive decision maker we can to remind them how essential Mining is, not only for our economies but for life as we know it.

Using Mexico as an example, the two leading industries (Tourism & Oil) are in a free fall that will take many years and possibly decades to recover from. Mining is the essential industry needed to produce goods such as Medical Equipment, Automobiles, Green Energy, Agriculture and 99% of everything we rely on to live our lives as we do now.

In times of war and a worldwide crisis such as we are in now with borders closed and manufacturing halted, the essential natural resources of each country maintain or increase in value. Mining is providing approximately 4% of Mexico’s total industrial GDP. That is valued at approximately $41B USD per year. This is more crucially needed than ever. After the last 6 years of one of the deepest and longest downturns in our industries history, gold prices are currently at record levels. This period will not last long and should be captured before the next downturn returns. Many of our important decision makers are understandably in crisis mode and may not be aware of this. It is more than ever the responsibility of each of us to inform them. We cannot wait if we are currently running or soon to be halted. Clarity must permeate for the best decisions to be made now and the months to follow.

Regarding health and safety, we are fortunate that most Mining workers are already operating with social distancing and wearing extensive PPE Personal Protection Equipment.  (Masks, eye protection, gloves etc). Also, most of the mines are operating far away from densely populated areas like major cities which both protects the mining workers and the outbreak hotspots more common in larger cities. Mining should not be compared to industries with high risk of spreading the virus such as automotive plants, maquilas and tourism.

Lastly, it is extremely important to understand that there are hundreds of thousands of people in over 600 towns that solely rely on their nearby mine with as much as 90% of their own economic survival. Cananea, Fresnillo, Somberete and over 600 more towns throughout Mexico will be severely affected.

During these times of stress to the economy and populace of Mexico, and considering the points above, Mining is one industry that will not harm or contribute to the problem of passing the virus to the general population and should not be subject to closure. The harm to the economy of Mexico will be substantial and possible closure will not in any way enhance or impede the existing pandemic environment.

Please educate and remind your contacts how our recovery will crucially rely on Mining. It is a fact that slowing down the Mining industry will directly slow down our recovery.

We encourage you to share this message as quickly as you can and to as many as you can before misguided judgments are made that will put our society into a more dangerous position then it needs to be.

(Below you can view the protocols Globexplore is taking to keep our team and your team safe and healthy).

We wish all the best to you and have faith that you and those you love will soon experience a sense of healthy normalcy.
