Bylsa Drilling is deeply saddened to announce the death of a worker at its Pánuco, Sinaloa jobsite on January 9, 2025 following a tragic rockslide.
The accident occurred at 11:40 am during a surface drilling operation. Large boulders in an unstable rock formation shifted and fell approximately 80 meters from the drill rig onto the work site below.
Of the three workers at the site, one was tragically killed instantly, while the other was knocked unconscious but was saved by the driller—one of the three workers—who performed CPR. He is now recovering from his injuries at a local hospital.
The Bylsa family is deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague. Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to his family and loved ones.
Bylsa is fully cooperating with the authorities in their investigation into the cause of the accident. Safety in the workplace has always been and will continue to be of paramount importance to Bylsa.
