Go to Location:

The Thor Copper Project is located within the Arizona - Sonora Copper Mining Belt is host to over 40 major Cu-Mo porphyry deposits, including the world-class, Cananea and La Caridad copper mines currently being operated by Grupo Mexico. The Thor property was acquired for its extensive geochemical and associated color anomalies, which is interpreted by Riverside to represent the basal portions of an eroded porphyry-related lithocap making it the prime target for a new significant copper discovery. This part of Sonora is rich in copper potential where extensional tectonics has created the potential for shallow, bulk tonnage discoveries. Within these areas of more recent crustal extension pediment valley fill often covers post-mineral faulting creating ‘buried copper porphyries’, as documented by Riverside’s President, John-Mark Staude, who described this condition in his 1995, Ph.D. thesis on the mineralization of Sonora, Mexico.

Approximately 86 diamond drill holes totaling more than 11,550 metres of core have now been completed at the Project. Drilling to date on the Peñoles property has defined significant intervals of near-surface silver mineralization (with associated gold, lead and zinc values) at Jesus Maria, and wide intervals of near-surface gold mineralization (with low silver values) at El Capitan that could potentially be amenable to open-pit extraction methods.

The La Dura is located in the Municipality of Tamazula, Durango about a 7 hour drive by paved road and 30 km of dirty road SW from Parral, Chihuahua or 6 hours to the NE of Culiacán, Sinaloa by dirt road. There is year-round access. The mine was intermittently worked from the early 20th century up till closure in 1999 due to low metals prices. There are 7 levels of underground workings extending to a total depth of 158 m. It is estimated that about 300,000 tons of material has been mined, based on the size of the historic workings. There is an estimated 120,000 tons of tailings on the property with grades of 1.2 g/t Au and 52 g/t Ag. In 1996, 1,405 kg of silver and 31.22 kg of gold were produced from 7,673 tons of ore. In 1997, a high-grade ore shoot was discovered, with grades up to 135 g/t Au and 7.718 kg/t Ag and 100 tons of ore was mined producing 427 kg of silver and 9.177 kg of gold. Exploration on the property has been limited to sampling of old mine workings and tailings. The property has not been evaluated with modern exploration techniques including mapping, soil sampling, geophysical surveys or diamond drilling. There is exploration potential to the North West along trend with the vein system and at depth along the known structures. The mineralization occurs as Veins, Breccias, stockwork and disseminates.

San Juan

More Detail..

Commodities: Au-Ag
Type of Deposit: Veins and Dissemination
State: Baja California
Municipality: Ensenada
Surface Area: 20,000 Hectares
Type Of Deal: Open to All Offers
Price: Negotiable

Go to Location:

The San Juan Project is a largely unexplored area with potential for a very large gold-bearing porphyry system with high-grade quartz-gold veins. The San Juan mine reportedly produced over 100,000 tons of ore with average grades of 20 g/t Au. The San Juan Mine was in operation until 1911 and produced gold ore for shipping which assayed as high as 25-32 gm/t. The milling ore grade was 4-5 gm/t. The mine operated on eleven levels, of which only those seven above the 1200 m main haulage were mined out. The mineralization could be quite extensive. The mineralized intrusive and metamorphic assemblage underlies most of the property and probably extends beneath the Cenozoic cover to the west. Little of this ground has been explored beyond prospecting and none of this exploration is recent. A 43-101 report dated September 19, 2005 is attached.
